How to Maximize the Benefits of Net Billing

Choose a reliable company first, then the photovoltaic system.

Simultaneous energy offsetting, also known as Net Billing, is transforming consumers’ energy balance by enabling real-time offsetting between generated and consumed energy. Any surplus energy is injected into the grid and compensated based on the wholesale market price at the time of injection.

While Net Billing can directly translate into monetary credit for the consumer’s account, the real benefit lies in offsetting consumption volumes during peak sunshine hours, such as midday. This makes it particularly advantageous for businesses operating during the day.

However, when energy consumption is higher during the evening or nighttime, the addition of a storage system (battery) becomes essential.

Combining a Net Billing photovoltaic (PV) system with a storage system (battery) maximizes benefits for the prosumer (whether a business or an individual). It allows excess energy generated during peak sunlight hours to be stored and later used during periods of low or no energy production.

The stored energy can be consumed during times when energy production is insufficient or nonexistent. A Net Billing system with batteries contributes to greater independence from the grid and protects consumers in areas prone to frequent power outages. Additionally, a battery-equipped system serves as a backup energy source, for example, during extreme weather conditions or prolonged power interruptions.

For businesses, this ensures uninterrupted operation of facilities, while for individuals, it provides peace of mind during power outages.
